Cyclocross season officially starts now. Right now. It has been so declared. As such, it’s time to start drooling over the next cyclocross machines. Felt has long had a strong presence in the cross scene and, quite honestly, has quite the offering of lightweight cross racers.
The sweet spot in the lineup, in our opinion, is the F4x. This sub-19 lb. racer sports SRAM’s latest 1×11 incarnation: Force CX1. But, it does stay mechanical instead of going HydroR, which helps keep the price down to a palatable $2999.
2015 Felt F4x Highlights:
- Felt Cyclocross UHC Advanced carbon fiber
- SRAM Force CX1 mechanical
- Mavic Aksium ONE disc wheelset
- House-brand cockpit bits
- Sizes: 47, 50, 53, 55, 57 and 60cm
- Weight: 18.7 lbs
Why is the F4x cool?
At that price, you get a full UHC Performance carbon fiber frame with carbon fork and steerer. It is built to accommodate 160mm rotors front and rear, right out of the box for ultimate stopping power. It also sports internal cable routing for the rear derailleur and external rear brake routing along the top of the top tube for easy shouldering.
The 2015 Felt F4x really looks like a fantastic bike for the upcoming cross season or for an all-weather, all-trail commuter.
