2016 Scott Addict Premium Disc

2016 Scott Addict Premium Disc

The Scott Addict is one fantastic bike. Now, that bike is available with modern disc brakes and thru axles. Check out the new Scott Addict Premium with a top-shelf HMX carbon fiber layup and 12mm thru axles front and rear. Of course, it also sports flat mount disc brake mounts and 160mm rotors — all the trappings for the future of road cycling.

Having ridden the standard Addict SL extensively, I’m bullish on the new Addict Premium Disc. The only downside at this point is the added weight of discs. At some point, that will come down, but the Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 system isn’t doing anyone any favors. A mechanical/hydraulic SRAM Red setup would shave precious grams, but you’ll have to go with the frameset and build one yourself if you want the lightest possible build.

That said, the full Shimano build and Syncros carbon cockpit is a strong package for this Grand Tour performer. As Scott-sponsored teams (Orica-GreenEDGE and IAM Cycling) begin testing road discs, be on the lookout out for the Addict Disc in the peloton.

Have a look at the frameset to see the details of the axles and disc mounts.
