Felt is not a big enough company to spend their precious resources on a fad. So, when the company best known in the triathlon circuit gets involved in fat bikes, you know it’s for real. They are even rocking electric fat bikes — true story.
The Double Double sports 4-inch tires and a 6061 aluminum frame and is available in two flavors: Double Double 30 for $1999 and the Double Double 70 for $1399. With the new fatbike, Felt has a wide spectrum of bikes for all conditions and rider types.
I saw the Double Double 30 at Interbike and it is a beautiful-looking bike in the realm of fatbikes. Many of them, while functional, aren’t much to look at. Instead of small tubes or swoopy lines, the Double Double gets an aggressive-looking frame with clean lines and internally-routed cables. The steel blue color is a nice complement in a sea of the usual color schemes.

The Bottom Line
While the Double Double 30 is priced just above some of the competition, it does have a solid package and steps up with carbon bars and seatpost to smooth out the chatter.
