Best of Interbike: 2015 BMC GF02 Disc 105 – The Green Machine

2015 BMC GF02 Disc 105 at Interbike

Wandering through the otherwise vanilla colors of the latest BMC bikes, one green machine caught my eye. It was the 2015 BMC GF02 Disc 105 in the coolest green color that’s ever rolled out of BMC’s factories. This do-it-all bike may not the exact the color of money, but BMC will be wise to push this one hard because it’s going to stand out at every dealer that stocks it. Think of it s the new color of money.

Built with a lightweight aluminum frame using Tuned Compliance Concept (TCC), the folks at BMC state it has the same compliance as their carbon fiber models. One quick look at those ultra-thin, flat seat stays and you’ll know why. Up front, the full-carbon TCC disc fork offers stout performance with enhanced chatter reduction.

To keep the price at a solid $2599, the GF02 Disc sports a full Shimano 105 drivetrain with R-517 mechanical disc brakes. Truthfully, the 105 kit yields very little to the Ultegra kit and will perform well in abusive conditions at only a modest weight penalty.

The GF02 Disc is built to tackle road, gravel, cyclocross, trekking and commuting duty with a long wheelbase, ample tire clearance and a predictable, comfortable geometry. And, that bright green color… kapow!
